| Job Title: Marketing and Distribution Internship |
| Description |
Marketing and Distribution Intern (Unpaid):
Based at: New York office (Brooklyn) and/or some work done remotely
Position reports to: Company President, Managing Director, and Producer
Position Purpose Summary: The Marketing and Distribution Intern’s role will involve 2-3 day a week participation in the marketing and distribution process of the documentary and independent film making business for emerging production company and related arts and film based not-for-profit organization.
Hours Worked: Normal business hours and some possible overtime and/or later hours/split shifts
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
o Assists in the Film Festival entry process
Maintains up to date log of Festivals entered with status
Researches additional and alternate festival and screening opportunities
o Assists in creating Power Point and other multimedia presentations to be used in marketing and fund seeking
o Helps to coordinate focus group screenings
o Researches pertinent market data
o Helps to create collateral marketing materials
o Assists in grant research and writing
o Document management: assists in ensuring pertinent company wide documents remain current and accessible to applicable employees and team members:
Maintains company wide database
Updates contact lists and other pertinent docs regularly for marketing purposes
Assists in updates to social network: blog postings, press release copy, photo/video upload, etc.
o Executes detailed shipping instructions
o Labels media and packages for shipping
o Assists in coordinating travel arrangements for staff
o Pitches in as needed during marketing and fundraising events, screenings, and pre-production planning
o Occasionally coordinates food and beverage needs for production and investor related meetings

| Job Requirements |
Skills and qualifications required:
Background in Film and Television specific training and experience
Background in marketing training and experience
Understanding and experience with the Mac operating system
Proficient in: Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite, Skype.
Familiar with the methods and limitations of FedEx and similar next day shipping services
Familiarity with: Internet research, travel planning and social networking sites: Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, twitter, blogs, etc.
Possess an email and text equipped mobile device, addition to a Skype equipped laptop
Possess a laptop computer with programs listed above
Familiarity and knowledge of the New York City area
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Possess a professional demeanor
